Job Description
Catholic Inclusion, LLC is seeking a part-time dedicated and compassionate professional to work with Catholic schools to support children with intellectual disabilities and learning disabilities for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers up to 20 hours of work per week, providing direct support and consultation to educational teams including teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of what support for students with intellectual disabilities looks like in a Catholic school, have instructional coaching experience and be passionate about inclusive Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with school resource teams, general education teachers, administration and other related service providers to support children with intellectual disabilities and learning disabilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Catholic Education Plans, or Student Assistance Plans to address each child’s specific learning needs.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in adapting instructional strategies and classroom activities to meet the needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
- Provide training and professional development to school staff regarding best practices for working with children with intellectual disabilities.
- Provide regular communication with teachers regarding student progress and support strategies.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist in creating and implementing strategies to promote meaningful inclusion for students at their local Catholic school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master's degree preferred)
- Teaching experience, specifically teaching students with intellectual disabilities
- Strong understanding of modifications and accommodations
- Knowledge of ICEP and SAP development and implementation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Understanding of current best practices in special education and intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
Schedule:
