Support Staff/SOAR Program Aide
To support the Afterschool/Summer Program Director in the planning, development, and daily operations of engaging and enriching afterschool programming that aligns with the mission, vision, and instructional goals of Andover Central School. The Assistant Director will help foster a safe and supportive environment for youth and staff, assist in high-quality program implementation, and contribute to a collaborative team effort that extends learning opportunities beyond the regular school day.
This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently under the Director.

Responsibilities:
- Program Support:Assist the Director in the development, planning, and implementation of diverse and engaging activities for the youth program, ensuring alignment with Andover Central School's mission, vision, and district instructional goals.
- Collaboration with School Staff:Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to support the integration of afterschool programming with the regular school day curriculum and contribute to the overall educational objectives of the district, as directed by the Director.
- Daily Operations Assistance:Support the Director in the daily operations of the afterschool program, helping to ensure a safe, well-managed, and positive environment for all participants.
- Data Collection and Support:Assist in the collection and basic analysis of program data to support program management and demonstrate results, as directed by the Director.
- Activity Facilitation:Lead and facilitate program activities and assist with curriculum implementation under the guidance of the Director.
- Program Improvement Support:Contribute to ongoing program improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions to the Director, in alignment with district instructional goals.
- Communication and Relationship Building:Assist in fostering positive relationships and effective communication with students, parents, school staff, and community partners, under the direction of the Director.
- Teamwork and Collaboration:Work effectively as a collaborative and supportive member of the afterschool program team and the broader Andover Central School community.
- Flexibility and Adaptability:Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to the changing needs of the afterschool program and the students it serves.
- Independent Work:Manage assigned tasks and responsibilities effectively and independently, following the guidance of the Director.
- Professional Growth:Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to afterschool programming and the school's mission.
- Classroom Management Support:Assist in implementing effective classroom management techniques to ensure a safe, positive, and productive environment for all youth and staff.
- Other Duties:Perform other duties as assigned by the Afterschool/Summer Program Director to support the successful operation of the program and the overall goals of Andover Central School.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience working with youth.
- Possession and retention of a valid driver's license.
- In accordance with the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) legislation, Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and by the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, candidates for appointment in school districts must obtain clearance for employment from the State Education Department prior to employment based upon a fingerprint and criminal history background check.
Salary: $16.79-$18.27 per hour, based on experience.
