Secondary Art Teacher
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for students, fostering their academic growth and personal development. This role requires a strong commitment to educational excellence, effective communication skills, and the ability to utilize learning technology to enhance the classroom experience.
Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- In-depth knowledge of different art media, such as graphite pencils, charcoals, watercolors, acrylic paints, oil paints and clay.
- Understanding of age-appropriate teaching methods, art criticism and art history.
- Effective verbal communication and presentation skills to provide instruction.
- Strong written communication skills to provide feedback on assignments.
- Interpersonal skills to ensure positive interactions with students, parents and other faculty members.
- Critical thinking and judgement skills to assess students’ work and performance.
- Time management and organizational skills to manage daily lesson plans.
- Computer skills to use email, word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters respect among peers.
Salary: $47,210-$70,250
Qualifications
Certification/License:
· New York State Certification as an Art Teacher or as required for position.
· Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education:
· Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
· Masters Degree preferred.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
