Our business is growing, and we are accepting applications for OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE to support the Richmond area, attend weekly sales meetings, and be flexible to periodically work onsite at our facility in Louisa, VA. Our hours of operation span over three (3) shifts and we are a Monday through Saturday operation. Note: not all positions will require flexibility to work all shifts.

Overall, the Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating customer leads in the food service industry, establish and maintain contacts, produce sales and provide excellent customer service to new and existing customers in the Richmond area.
Job Responsibilities
- Actively pursue new food service customers and maintain relationships with existing customers to increase revenue and customer satisfaction;
- Educate current and prospective customers on Cavalier Produce products, services, pricing, and values;
- Develop strategies, identify sales opportunities, and monitor competitors;
- Maintain current, timely knowledge of industry trends and related information;
- Provide excellent customer service to customers, including ongoing evaluation of their needs and recommendation of additional product mix;
- Proactively resolve any customer concerns;
- Provide frequent reporting and metrics capturing lead generations, customer success and retention, issue resolution, financials, etc. to Sales Manager and management;
- Partner with Sales Team and Operations regularly to address any concerns, trends, etc.;
- Fill requests for samples, attend customer meetings, and respond to customer complaints and solve problems immediately and appropriately;
- Address concerns of potential customers and overcome resistance to close sales regularly;
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts on a rotating basis as needed to handle customers' needs;
- Travel within territory approximately 80% of the time, visiting current and potential customers on a daily basis;
- Represent Cavalier Produce in a professional, courteous manner at all times;
- Use computer software programs to order and track customers' orders, write letters and other documentation, and other similar tasks;
- Work efficiently, manage time effectively and demonstrate stewardship of company resources; and
- Handle all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Associates degree in business, marketing, agriculture, or other applicable area of study preferred;
- Three to five (3-5) years of outside sales experience with proven record of closing sales;
- With one to two (1-2) years of produce or food service experience preferred;
- Eager sales professional with a go getter attitude and interest in growing with a great company;
- Proven track record of excellent customer relationship management;
- Superb organization skills, attention to detail, and follow through coupled with the desire to exceed customers' expectations through use of superior customer service skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including but not limited to, excellent grammar and spelling, and a clear telephone speaking voice;
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately based on business needs;
- Demonstrated ability to work both in teams and alone;
- Demonstrated self-motivation plus conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills;
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; and
- Valid driver's license in good standing to support daily travel requirements via company provided car, to visit current and potential customers.
