We are seeking a hard-working Injection Mold Technician for our growing business. Our Injection Mold Technician, you will primarily set-up machines with the appropriate mold for the job. Ensures that the mold is installed and operational for the work order and maintain a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes before the finished products reaches customers.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Work with Tool Room and/or Maintenance to resolve any issues pertaining to molds and machines.
- Ensures that each mold is set up and running to the parameters established on the Set-Up Sheet
- Monitors machine operations for any leaks or anything that may cause the machinery to not run properly.
- Makes adjustments to machine (pressure, heat, cycle time) to maximize product quality and production efficiency.
- Sets up any auxiliary equipment required at the press.
- Connects electrical hook-ups that are associated with the efficient running of a mold.
- Replaces any water fittings or hoses that are defective.
- Trouble shoots quality deficiencies and corrects them.
- Pulls production molds that required repair.
- Sets up, evaluates, and fills out a Set-Up Sheet for new molds.
- Runs sample orders in various colors and materials as directed.
- Assists operators by giving advice pertaining to quality or machine deficiencies.
- When pulling a mold, is responsible for cleaning the machine so that no parts from the mold are left.
- Cleans area around machine.
- Initiates the last shot evaluation form.
- Operates a bank of machines if required.
- Understands the use of customer work instructions and where to find them.
- Notifies Quality if a nonconformance is found.
- Responsible for the quality and adequacy of own work.
- Maintain ISO standards and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to start/stop jobs
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to follow instructions, set molds, and troubleshoot common issues
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to operate various machine models
· Reliable and trustworthy.
Education and Experience:
· Diploma or equivalent
· Experience in injection molding, mold setup, and basic processing is required
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing.
· Must be able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds plus at times.
