Overview
The FP&A Manager for Cavender’s is a results-driven, analytical business partner that enables efficient and effective financial decision making for stakeholders. Key contributions for this role are participating in the development of the annual operating plan, reporting solution design and implementation for business critical KPIs, financial modeling for investment decision making, and process standardization with accounting. This role partners with department leaders to support critical business needs during Cavender’s next phase of growth and requires a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, and discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
- Serve as a business partner and key support resource in matters pertaining to Finance, enabling leaders to make decisions that maximize profitability and achieve financial targets
- Assist in the development of annual operating plans & drive the development of components of the planning process
- Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of performance against plan and forecasts, highlighting trends, opportunities, and risks
- Partner with accounting to maintain and/or create new insights into expenditures and volume forecasts
- Develop and discuss the results of financial models, monthly sales and expense reports, and any ad-hoc financial analyses needed to address business objectives
- Partner with Finance leadership to prepare executive-level reports and presentations that communicate financial results, key performance indicators, and actionable recommendations
- Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to automate reporting processes and operational practices that enable the Finance function to scale with the projected growth of the business
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field,
- 5 years of experience in a Finance related role,
- Understanding of financial statements and how they relate to one another,
- Intermediate Microsoft Power Query, Power BI, and DAX with a basic understanding of ETL processes,
- Intermediate SQL skills (i.e. CTEs, variables, window functions) with knowledge of Snowflake, SQL Server databases, or other database or data warehousing solutions,
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel which includes complex formulas, pivot tables, and slicers
- Ability to comprehend complex or abstract issues and communicate effectively at various levels of the organization,
- Ability to handle confidential materials and matters with maximum discretion,
- Collaborative team-oriented approach with strong communication skills, both verbal and written,
- Associate must be able to read and understand English,
- Based in Tyler, TX at our home office; Tyler area residence.
Preferred Skills
- Self-starter with project management skills, including prioritization, time management and multi-tasking,
- Knowledge of the business intelligence function and data modeling best practices.
