Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to join our team at the Transfer Station. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the transfer station, ensuring that all materials are handled and processed efficiently, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, be able to perform physically demanding tasks, and work effectively in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the unloading, sorting, and processing of recyclable and non-recyclable materials.
- Operate basic equipment to handle waste and recyclable materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the transfer station by picking up debris, sweeping, and disposing of trash as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and tools, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs to the supervisor.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and recycling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a labor or industrial environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
