Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer (Sanitation Laborer / Refuse Collector) to join our team. This individual will primarily assist with the residential truck operations and provide support wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of daily activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, and work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the operation of the residential truck, including loading and unloading waste materials.
- Support the truck crew in ensuring all materials are collected and disposed of properly.
- Unload, sort, and process recyclable and non-recyclable materials as needed.
- Operate basic equipment to handle waste and recyclable materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the transfer station by picking up debris, sweeping, and disposing of trash.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and tools, reporting any malfunctions or required repairs to the supervisor.
- Help load and unload trucks and containers, as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and recycling.
- Assist with other tasks as needed, ensuring that operations run efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a labor or industrial environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
