Currently, we are looking to add a Facilities Director to the team:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure the efficient and compliant operation of the facility, managing facility-related projects, and maintaining a safe and conducive working environment.
- Lead a team of technicians to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve all the buildings’ operational issues; install, repair, rebuild and maintain laboratory instruments, various electrical, and mechanical equipment, including but not limited to fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, generators, primary switch gear), digital (fire alarm, duress, card access), temperature control, critical environments, and audio/visual systems.
- Responsible for the coordination and effective execution of planned maintenance programs (preventative, predictive, planned, corrective).
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for routine maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades.
- Manage projects of varied size and scope; make substantial contributions to determine feasibility of goals and objectives.
- Monitor expenses related to maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades and ensure they stay within budgetary requirements.
- Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) to review trends, analyze data, and monitor equipment/systems to identify trends and ensure they are running within specifications.
- Interact in a collaborative manner to accomplish organizational goals; provide ideas to improve organizational efficiency at group and department levels.
Requirements:
- Education - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field OR associate’s degree with certifications in controls, electrical, and HVAC.
- Experience - 8 years of progressive work experience in building operations within a laboratory facility.
- Proficient in ASi Controls, IntelliFront, BACnet (or currently utilized BMS) and Manager (or the currently utilized CMMS).
- Extensive knowledge of building practices, codes, and regulations.
- Familiarity with state and local regulations such as OSHA and MIOSHA.
- Strong problem-solving skills utilizing PDCA/M-FMEA/Six Sigma methods.
- Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours and on-call response to building monitoring system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
