Currently, we are looking to add a Regulatory and Safety Technician to the team:
Responsibilities And Duties
- Daily collections of liquid hazardous waste solvents from labs/production areas; deliver and dispense raw solvents to labs
- Consolidate waste into 55 gallon drums and coordinate vendor pickup
- Conduct routine inspections of waste storage areas and above ground tanks
- Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment including first aid kits, safety glasses, AED units, fire extinguishers, and safety showers
- Enter and track vendor supplied Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) in Cayman database
- Participate on Cayman’s Emergency Response Team
- Complete required trainings, including: HAZWOPPER, RCRA/hazardous waste, DOT, and IATA
- Assist with the preparation of regulatory reports
- Education: High school diploma, bachelor’s degree in related field (environmental science, chemistry, etc.) preferred
- Experience: 2 years preferred
- Computer Skills: Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with regulations such as OSHA/MIOSHA, EPA/MDEQ, NFPA
- Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours
