Join Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. a private, non for profit health and human service agency located in Auburn, NY as a Full-Time Family Support Specialist / Family Resource Specialist and be part of making a difference in lives and in the community.
In this role you will provide services to families in the Healthy Families Program.
FSS/FRS's will use their skills to:
- Ensure that all aspects of service delivery to families is implemented and executed according to the Healthy Families Best Practices home visiting mode.
- Conduct outreach to families, administer assessments, offer information and referrals, and support program recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Initiate and maintain regular home visiting schedule with families to assist in strengthening parent-child relationships, promote positive prenatal/child health and development outcomes and family self-sufficiency with the ultimate goal of preventing child abuse and neglect. FSS/FRSs carry a caseload of an average of 15 families.
- Maintain accurate documentation for clients that is compliant with the Healthy Families model.
- Participate as a member of community and perinatal task force committees.
- Provide education and awareness to the community of the Healthy Families program to increase awareness of the program.
- Participate as a member of the Healthy Families Advisory Board.
- Serves on Agency committees as assigned.
Qualifications for an FSS/FRS:
- Minimum of High School Diploma and at least one year's experience working with children. Knowledge of infant/child development. Experience working with children and families. Strong organizational and sound, independent judgment in decision making; strong written and oral communication skills as well as computer experience. Valid NYS Driver's License.
