Registered Dietician - Per Diem - Days

The Registered Dietitian - Provide person centered care and services. Work collaboratively with medical staff, patients, residents, families and food service department to ensure that patient/resident care plans are implemented and department standards are maintained while meeting all regulatory requirements put forth by local, state and federal agencies.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assess residents and patients for malnutrition and develop nutrition interventions and care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses
- Serve as a department representative as part of the hospital clinical team
- Manage the clinical workload between dietitian and diet tech, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Nutrition Manager on menu development and implementation
- Represent the Nutrition department QAPI and resident council meetings and Dining Committee
- Manage department enteral feeding policy and assist with development and management of other department policies, as needed
- Possess subject Matter Expert (SME) using food service management software.
- Approve and manage diets in menu software
- Serve as a consultant to Acute Care and Swing Bed units
- Provide nutritional education and counseling to residents/patients and families.
- Keep certification/license active with continuing education.
- Adherence to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation codes
- Maintain departmental policies and procedure of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Provide educational training to Dietary staff as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nutritional or Dietetics. Master's preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of related experience in acute and geriatric based healthcare
- Licensure: currently licensed as a Registered Dietician
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
Location and Travel Requirements
- Onsite - Schuyler Hospital - 220 Steuben Street Montour Falls, NY 14865
- Day Shift
Physical Requirements
- Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects. A licensed ability to drive may be necessary.
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
