Employee Onboarding Specialist

The Employee Onboarding Specialist leads the development and execution of comprehensive onboarding programs, ensuring new hires are effectively integrated into Cayuga Health's culture and operations, all pre-employment compliance standards are met and that all new hires have an exceptional employee experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement structured onboarding programs that align with organizational goals and comply with healthcare regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new employees, guiding them through orientation and initial training.
- Collaborate with HR, department managers, and IT to ensure new hires have the necessary resources and access to systems.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of onboarding processes, making continuous improvements based on feedback and best practices.
- Maintain accurate onboarding documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee onboarding or a related HR role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and onboarding software.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and healthcare compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies in HR processes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods.
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
- Visual and auditory acuity to perform job-related tasks.
Location, Travel and Shift Requirements:
- Onsite/Hybrid
- Weekly onsite presence may be required at our location on Warren Rd.
- Occasional travel for recruitment events or onboarding support
Pay Disclosure:
- $22.00 - $29.00 per hour, non-exempt
