Position Overview:

As a Custodian & Facility Cleaner, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the non-manufacturing areas of our dairy ingredients production facility. This includes regular and deep cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, conference rooms, and common spaces. You'll ensure these areas reflect the company’s high standards of cleanliness and are well stocked and ready for daily use by staff and visitors. During the winter months, you will also help ensure outdoor walkways and entrances are cleared of snow and ice for safe access.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

• Performing routine janitorial cleaning of non-production spaces including restrooms, locker rooms, office areas, break rooms, hallways, and conference rooms
• Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, tables, chairs, light switches, and shared equipment
• Restocking supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and other cleaning materials
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors and surfaces throughout the facility
• Emptying and replacing trash and recycling liners in all designated areas
• Reporting any maintenance issues or needed repairs (e.g., leaking sinks, broken dispensers) to the appropriate department
• Keeping janitor closets and supply storage areas clean, organized, and stocked
• Following all safety guidelines when using cleaning chemicals and PPE
• Assisting with snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entryways, and emergency exits using shovels, snow blowers, and de-icers during winter months
• Supporting facility appearance and safety by keeping outdoor areas tidy and accessible
• Communicating with supervisors or other departments as needed to coordinate cleaning around meetings or events
• Performing other cleaning or light facility upkeep duties as assigned

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning roles is preferred
• Basic understanding of sanitation and safety best practices
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Comfortable working in and around a food manufacturing facility (though this role does not involve direct work on the production floor)
• Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail
• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, professionalism, and safety in shared spaces
• Willingness to perform outdoor snow removal during winter months

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate all areas of the facility, including office spaces, warehouse areas, and the exterior perimeter.
• Must wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary to safely perform job duties.
• Ability to stand, sit, and carry out tasks throughout a full shift, with appropriate meal breaks.
• Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, and crouching as needed.
• Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with reasonable accommodation.
• Visual acuity sufficient to perform job duties accurately.
• Capable of assessing weights, judging distances, and working at various heights.

It is not typical for an employee to start at or near the top of the range for the position.
