What are the responsibilities and job description for the SLP, Speech Therapy, Full Time (5 days/week) position at Cayuga Nursing & Rehabilitation Center?
· Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
· Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
· Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
· Evaluating and diagnosing speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
· Providing training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.
· Working collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines and effectively careplanning to enhance safety of residents.
· Treating short- and long-term patients with a variety of health issues ranging from Alzheimer's disease to dysphagia.
· Working with people recovering from strokes, surgeries, and traumatic injuries.
· Providing care for dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic functioning, and speech-language deficits.
