ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK
The AP Clerk is responsible for overseeing and effectively processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payments of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process accounts and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable data
- Reconcile the accounts payable aging report to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Reconcile vendor statements and credit card statements
- Verify discrepancies and resolve vendor billing issues
- Work in the direction of the Controller on general ledger items or journal entries as needed
- Responsible for processing prepaid journal entries for expenses allocated through future months
- Assist Controller with projects as needed
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts payable status
- Work within specific systems to ensure payments are issued on a timely basis for all branches
- Other duties as assigned
AP CLERK SKILLS & PROFICENCIES
- High School Diploma/GED
- AA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business a plus or equivalent work experience- preferred but not required
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office (Excel, Word, and others)
- Experience with bill.com and QuickBooks Online is a plus
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong Communication Skills
- Reliability and trustworthiness
- Computer literate and website maneuverability required
- Team Player
- Knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and others)
- Knowledge of 1099 processing preferred
- Ability to multi-task and keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
