CB Asphalt is Michigan’s premier paving contractor. We have over two decades of industry experience, CB Asphalt is a trusted Michigan-based company specializing in commercial asphalt & concrete. At CB Asphalt we are looking to add dedicated and experienced asphalt screed/screw operators.
Responsibilities
- Operating the paver screed: Using the screed controls to spread and level asphalt according to project plans and specifications.
- Maintain proper asphalt depth and slopes: Adjusting the screed angle to achieve the correct slopes, elevations and mat thickness.
- Coordinating with the paver operator: Communicate with the paver operator to keep a consistent flow of asphalt and maintain needed head of material.
- Quality control: Regularly inspecting the asphalt mat for uniformity, smoothness, and compliance with project specifications.
- Pre-paving inspections: Performing thorough pre-paving checks on the screed and paver to identify issues and ensure proper functionality.
- Safety Standards: Adhere to all safety procedures and rules while wroking.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience running screw
- Knowledge of asphalt paving and equipment operation.
- Strong communication and team work skills.
- Ability to follow plans and specifications.
- Flexibility with long hours and weekend work as needed.
- Physical ability to lift heavy weight and stand for long periods of time.
- Vaild drivers license or CDL-A is encouraged but not recommended.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 50 – 80 per week
