Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
- Manage and delegate day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including but not limited to:
- Daily sales, bank, and other account reconciliations
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable management
- Payroll processing and recording
- Managing critical client deadlines (AP Due dates, reports, etc.)
- Prepare sales and use tax returns
- Monitor fixed assets and depreciation / amortization schedules
- Record principal and interest on debt payments
- Review debt agreements and prepare amortization schedules
- Prepare financial statement and/or tax work papers, as needed
- Develop an understanding of the client's business practices
- Organize work, multitask and prioritize to meet client and firm deadlines
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or higher in Accounting (or related field)
- Familiarity with internal revenue code, tax law, and tax processes
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of review and compilation standard
- Tax and/or Financial Statement preparation
- Previous Public Accounting Firm experience
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks On-line software or QuickBooks Desktop
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with year-end and interim financial statement close.
- Ability to apply accounting concepts and theory
- Ability to learn new processes and information quickly
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work to meet deadlines as well as delegate tasks as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team-based attitude, and a desire to collaborate
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise.
- Proficient use of applicable technology.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
