The Operations team is hiring for an Incident Management Associate.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a Cybersecurity role.

The Incident Management Associate is an entry level role supporting Cboe’s overall Incident Management process. Responsibilities include participating in and/or leading regular and ad hoc incident management meetings with incident relevant staff, participating in and/or conducting Learning Reviews (post-mortem meetings), and participating in incident calls. The Incident Management Associate is also responsible for creating incident records, maintaining and monitoring such records, and drafting internal incident management-related communications.

The Incident Management Associate applies entry level project management skills to decompose, assign, and track to completion post-incident work items. The Incident Management Associate also is responsible for follow up on action items resulting from learning reviews and for updating internal documents as necessary. A successful Incident Management Associate will be skilled in communication, collaboration, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork in a fast-paced, multi-faceted technical environment.

The Incident Management Associate will often require supervisory support and/or support from their peers in conducting their day-to-day responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain incident tracking records within Jira. Draft technical descriptions of incidents and gather all relevant incident details. Maintain, review, follow up on, update, and bring to closure such records through the incident management lifecycle.
  • Participate in and/or conduct post-incident Learning Reviews (post-mortem meetings) to identify takeaways that will drive systemic incident reducing improvements across Cboe. Follow up on identified post-incident action items to bring them to closure through close collaboration with other stakeholders throughout Technology, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Security, Risk, and Compliance. Draft Learning Review meeting notes with identified action items and action item owners and include these notes within Jira incident tracking records in a timely manner.
  • Participate in incident management meetings and incident bridge audio/video calls. Contribute to the coordination of all resources and personnel needed to resolve incidents as quickly and as effectively as possible.
  • Support compliance with applicable regulations and requirements related to incident management. Support internal, external, and regulatory audits and reviews of the incident management process.

Required skills:

  • Minimum Years of Work Experience: 1 years of demonstrated computer science, computer networking, and/or computer infrastructure related experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills including demonstrated ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead meetings in a technical setting among multiple stakeholders with varied backgrounds and viewpoints.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing/Communications, Project Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, Financial Services, or a related discipline.

Our pay ranges are determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, role, experience, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $61,200-$75,600. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay the company expects to offer for new hires working in the position full time. If you live in one of the following areas or if you work in a Cboe office in the following areas, the range may be higher according to the geographic differentials listed below:


US Geographic Differentials:

  • 110%: Austin TX, Chicago IL, Denver CO, San Diego CA

  • 115%: Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA

  • 120%: Boston MA, Washington DC

  • 125%: New York City NY

  • 130%: San Francisco CA


Within the range, individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
