Schneider’s Flooring America showroom in Vernon, CT is looking to hire a Commercial Outside Sales Consultant to join their growing team. What We Offer :

  • Base Salary Commission
  • Earning potential of $60K to 95K
  • Full Time : 40 hrs. / 5-day work week (Monday-Friday : 8 am to 5 pm)

Responsibilities :

  • Follow up on leads & prospect for new commercial business
  • Research for residential home builders to gain new accounts
  • Provide outstanding customer service to determine overall flooring & design needs
  • Build strong client relationships & ensure follow up is completed with new / existing clients
  • Schedule appointments for client consultations
  • Keep up to date on the wide selection of products & services available
  • Record / track sales, meetings & other data using RFMS software
  • Create & present project proposals for client’s approval
  • Gather space / area measurements, provide flooring sample suggestions, calculate materials needed for active projects, ensure quality control throughout project
  • Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications, availability & delivery dates
  • Stay on top of local commercial business & marketing trends to identify new opportunities for sales within area
  • Desired Skills & Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ proven work experience in Flooring Sales, Outside Sales, Construction Management, Business Development Specialist, or similar role
  • Valid drivers license & reliable form of transportation (REQUIRED)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & CRM programs
  • A positive attitude & desire to exceed expectations
  • Proper phone etiquette
  • Ability to utilize various forms of communication to follow up with clients
  • Confidence to upsell customers & clients
  • Exceptional critical thinking & problem-solving ability
  • Ability to achieve sales goals effectively
  • Knowledgeable in reading floorplans / blueprints
  • Strong personal & professional judgment
  • Adapt & respond quickly to customers’ needs & wants
  • Organizational skills & the flexibility to jump from priority to priority
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Knowledge of RFMS a plus (Willing to train)
