The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices. 

 

  • Provide overall strategic HR leadership to the company, including all divisions. Oversee the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, safety, employee communications and employee events.
  • Serve as internal consultant to company management team, supervisors and employees on personnel issues that affect performance, safety and business relationships.
  • Select, develop, evaluate and lead a team of human resource professionals with a goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal consulting group.
  • Key member of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”) Team liaising with ESOP Trustee, Third Party Administrator and other service providers.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Champions ESOP with employees and assures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and statutes.
  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of Company's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to insure Company's compliance.
  • Responsible for Company compliance with applicable legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in Company personnel policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followed.
  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of Company wage and salary program.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed by Supervisors on personnel matters.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates, and participates in Staff Development for Company.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets Company personnel information needs.
  • Manage/Process corporate office payroll (manage withholdings, deductions & liabilities)
  • Possess knowledge of payroll laws and compliance to include procedural awareness of the Davis-Bacon Act and Prevailing Wage Information and Resources Programs.
  • Maintain payroll reporting data for OCIP, CCIP, EEOC, ACA, DOL and other census reporting and surveys.
  • Manage workers’ compensation and other insurance claims.
  • Supervises the staff of the Human Resources Department.
  • Secondary Functions
  • Ability to complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate many projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to contribute to decision-making affecting corporate strategy.
  • Supervision of reception area, office phone lines, office supplies, other administrative duties.

Qualifications

Experience, Education and Licensure

  • University Degree or equivalent or four to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience or strong knowledge of USCIS compliance including E-Verify.
  • Prior experience or working knowledge of Employee Stock Ownership Plan’s is highly desirable.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legislation, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, and/or boards of directors.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish would be beneficial.
