Job Summary: The Production Line Lead will oversee and coordinate activities on the production lines, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high quality standards, and achieving production goals. This role involves leading a team, managing production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, while effectively communicating across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Guide production operators and production staff to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Provide training and support to new and existing team members to ensure that procedures are followed, and quality requirements are met.
Production Line Management:
- Manage inventory by interfacing with Valors ERP system.
- Resolve issues related to Valors ERP system such as picking material, receiving material, and labor tracking.
- Oversee the mechanical assembly of parts, ensuring proper organization and sorting.
- Manage the loading of fixtures and parts into automated and manual equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for production equipment, including tool life management and maintaining coolant/oil levels.
- Read and interpret technical data tolerances and quality requirements.
Production Processes:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges.
- Attend Production Meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards and report potential non-conformances.
- Maintain a low individual scrap rate and physically quarantine non-conforming products.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure accurate completion of paperwork for labor tracking and inventory management.
- Maintain accurate records of production data and lot traceability.
- Communicate production metrics and any issues up and down the chain of command and with other departments as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
- Support 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity.
- Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and industry regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
- Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug and alcohol screenings
- Must comply with internal non-disclosure agreement requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and decimals)
- Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives “Employee Possessor” eligibility
- Pass internal explosives safety training test and maintain annual qualification
- Complete initial training by observing other operators or technicians during first week of employment
- Basic computer literacy
Physical Requirements

- FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, sitting, climbing on/off truck, reading, lifting up to 10 lbs.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech-range, depth-perception, color vision.
- VISION: Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Near vision includes clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less to work with small objects or read small/fine print, including use of computers.
Position Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
