Job Description
A CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Drafter creates detailed technical drawings and plans using specialized software to convert engineering designs and specifications into shop drawings and technical documentation.
Role
Prepare and review shop drawings and other documents for post-tensioning projects in compliance with governing codes and company Standard Operating Procedures.
Essential Functions
- Review project construction documents
- Generate and modify shop drawings according to construction drawings
- Understand and implement requirements for each assigned project
- Perform QC review for shop drawings
- Follow and implement quality assurance procedures
- Understand the most efficient and accurate methods to complete the assigned tasks and their priority
- Manage filing of project documents, following company filing standards
Essential Requirements
- Fully proficient in AutoCAD or similar programs.
- Basic knowledge in MS Office Word and Excel
- 2-year Technical or associate degree in CAD or related field(preferred)
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, subcontractors and clients
- Ability to take direction and work well with others
- Ability to visit construction sites and climb ladders
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Ability to multi-task
