What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Information Management Specialist - Onsite position at CCM Health Brand?
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the general direction of the Health Information Manager, the HIM Specialist is responsible for assembly and analysis of all health records, tabulation of statistical data, transcription of hospital dictation, performance of release of information and participation in the quality management process. All work is carried out in accordance with the department’s approved policies.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Medical Secretary Degree from an accredited institution. Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
SKILL(S):
- Good organizational skills, excellent investigative/analytic skills with detail orientation, and strong follow-through capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively problem solve, develop working
- Must be able to meet deadlines, work independently, set priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Intermediate skills using Windows-based software, familiarity with information technology.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer one (1) year of Medical Secretary and/or Transcription experience.
- Epic EMR experience preferred.
