POSITION: Surgical Tech Intern
DEPARTMENT: Surgery
HOURS: 48-72 hours per pay period
HOURLY WAGE: $20.00
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Surgical Tech Intern is a student currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program who assists in the perioperative setting under direct supervision of a Certified Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse. The intern will gain hands-on experience in the sterile environment, learn to prepare surgical instruments and equipment, assist during surgical procedures, and adhere to aseptic technique standards.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program.
SKILL(S):
- Basic knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and surgical instrumentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, stay organized, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous surgery experience preferred but not required.
