POSITION: Surgical Tech Intern

DEPARTMENT: Surgery

HOURS: 48-72 hours per pay period

HOURLY WAGE: $20.00

General Responsibilities

The Surgical Tech Intern is a student currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program who assists in the perioperative setting under direct supervision of a Certified Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse. The intern will gain hands-on experience in the sterile environment, learn to prepare surgical instruments and equipment, assist during surgical procedures, and adhere to aseptic technique standards.

Education/Training

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  
  

Skill(s)

• Basic knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and surgical instrumentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, stay organized, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  
  

Experience

• Previous surgery experience preferred but not required.
