Head Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring and supervising all pool related activities while enforcing policies and procedures. You will play an important role in the community by ensuring our residents stay safe while having fun in the sun!
What You’ll Accomplish
- Learning the emergency action plan and how to employ it
- Communicating and enforcing pool rules and policies
- Performing lifesaving duties when needed
- Keeping the facilities clean and organized
- Maintaining chemical levels in assigned areas
- Testing community lifeguards' skills
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures as needed
- Participating in scheduled aquatics meetings
- At least one year lifeguarding experience with the community or one year as a head lifeguard elsewhere
- Current lifeguard certification with a nationally recognized association
- CPR and First Aid certification is required
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to pass a swim test
- Leadership skills
- Energy, a great attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as scheduled
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
The physical requirements can vary, but generally, they may include:
- Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Extended Sitting or Standing: Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events.
- Manual Dexterity: Skills in using technology, including computers and mobile devices.
