Pharmacy Shipping Technician

Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Detailed oriented and able to multi task.
• Efficient, self-motivated, and proactive.
• Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team setting.
• Knowledge and experience working in Word, Excel, and Access documents.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Scans the medications bar code to verify that the paperwork, medications sent down, and the patient file provided in the pharmacy system is active and correct.
• Prepares and places pharmaceutical products in appropriate packaging to avoid any damages or the compromising of temperature sensitive medications.
• Reviews patient’s delivery instructions located in patient file, if specified, and selects the appropriate shipping service requested by the patient, if specified.
• Assist fulfillment department with full inventory and cycle counts, and the removing of any out-of-date products for proper recording and returning back to the manufacturer, as needed.
• Fills prescribed medication with the correct NDC number and quantity by using a “Kirby” and placing prescription in an appropriately sized bottle.
• Verifies that patient label, NDC number, and quantity are correct before sending to Pharmacist for review.
• Cleans equipment, maintaining clean working environments and tools.
• All other duties assigned by Supervisor

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions / Behavioral Expectations

• Ability to utilize equipment including but not limited to: Telephone, Computer, Designated software(s), Basic office Software (MS word, Excel), Printers, Calculators, Facsimile Machines and other Pharmacy Equipment.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit and reach on a frequent basis.
• Adequate range of motion and mobility required.
• May be required to handle a heavy work volume.
• 0% Travel.
• Perform light to moderate lifting and carrying with some stooping or crouching to pick up items.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Presents a positive image of himself/herself and of the Company, exhibiting behaviors which demonstrate competence, reliability, self-control, honesty, and appropriate overall appearance.
• Demonstrates sensitivity for the needs of others by showing appreciation and respect for the dignity of all persons.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
