About the role:
- Execute the processing of complex journals and reconciliations.
- Responsible for delivering month end results.
- Responsible for periodic reporting.
- Execute the processing of fixed assets by operating mature processes.
- Execute accurate reporting of fixed assets.
- Actively contribute to continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
The GL, VAT and Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for any combination of the below responsibilities:
- Execute the month end process:
- Operate the monthly process to the month end calendar
- Preparation and posting of complex journals on a timely basis
- Approval of journals prepared by other team members
- Preparation and processing of allocation and recharges on a timely basis
- Preparation and posting of accruals or prepaid on general expenses, freight…
- Execute the production of reconciliations:
- Prepare reconciliations for review by GL Lead
- Review the aging of reconciling items and resolve in a timely manner
- Prepare trial balance and load HFM.
- Bank statement processing and resolution of AR/AP unallocated payments.
- Execute the end-to-end Fixed Assets monthly processes:
- Review and confirm with BU assets under construction adhere to local GAAP and IFRS
- Capitalize / Expense any incorrectly coded items as adjustments to Fixed Assets
- Run, check and post depreciation
- Execute the updating of the Fixed Asset:
- Process fixed assets additions, working with the BU for any missing information
- Process disposal, calculate profit/loss on disposal
- Update the Fixed Asset register
- Execute VAT return and related reports:
- Identify optimal way to resolve differences
- Understand the root cause of AP mistakes and help drive process improvements
- Resolve and assess all excluded invoices from VAT return:
- Understand and work with the AP to resolve mistakes
- Escalate mistakes where necessary to Team Lead
- General support to other teams’ members as business demand requires.
- Contribute to operational and strategic process improvements.
Qualifications
- Good communication skills in English.
- 2 years of experience with managing asset modules (e.g., setting up asset cards, managing work-in-progress investments, investment advances, carrying forward to the next year).
- Audit – Preparation of Documents.
