Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely performing all job aspects in connection with the install and inspection of machines and equipment and carry out preventive maintenance to ensure that all remain operational.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Report any and all compliance failures to supervisor.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical equipment
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing order.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Ensure to follow Company/Terminal Policies and Procedures when accessing or working in the Terminal.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work varied hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts required.
- Must be able to pass background and drug/alcohol screening.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a dry, sometimes dusty warehouse environment as well as outside elements.
