Purpose Of Role
Under general supervision, the Accounting Clerk provides a wide variety of general clerical and administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the Accounting department.
Position Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; data entry, spreadsheet and word processing programs; use various computer applications proficiently on a daily basis to review schedules, update, track, and research status or criteria, and/or produce reports; clerical accounting methods, forms, and techniques; office practices and procedures related to processing and recording accounting and bookkeeping transactions.
Ability to use copy, scanners, and postal meters in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met and initiate prompt and professional responses to co-workers, and other individuals; maintain confidentiality and follow privacy laws, rules and regulations and procedures in regards to record keeping, using appropriate judgment in answering questions, releasing information considering the consequences of disclosure.

- Maintain files of all invoices paid for all the departments.
- Process and monitor accounts payable to maintain current payment schedules; classify expenses according to contracts and related account; prepare, review and maintain various accounts payable reports.
- Maintain proper procedures for filing and retrieving information, documents, or data during internal and external audit information requests as necessary, in both hard copy and electronic forms.
- Update spreadsheets for analysis as needed.
- Compile, collate and copy accounting documents, including preparing analyses based on this information contained in those documents.
- May perform various other duties and/or projects, as assigned.
