We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead and scale our US sales organization. This role is critical in aligning regional commercial activities with our global objectives, driving revenue growth, and expanding our market presence.
The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with a deep understanding of the US life sciences and biopharma markets, exceptional team-building skills, and a track record of developing and executing high-impact commercial strategies.
Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development
● Own and drive sales within a designated territory while overseeing and guiding commercial efforts across the broader US region.
● Develop and execute sales strategies targeting academic and biopharma organizations to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
● Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to expand market share at both the individual and regional levels.
● Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer needs to refine commercial strategies and drive sustained success. Account Management & Market Strategy
● Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer value and service.
● Conduct comprehensive market analysis to anticipate trends and adapt sales approaches accordingly.
● Provide data-driven insights and regular reports on sales performance, competitive intelligence, and growth opportunities.
Leadership & Team Development
● Lead, mentor, and scale the US Commercial Team, including Customer Success and Technical Sales Specialists, to foster a high-performance culture.
● Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Commercial Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.
● Represent the company at industry conferences, customer visits, and training events.
About You
● Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
● Professional Experience: A natural leader with 15 years of direct sales experience selling life science instruments and/or technologies to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, contract research organizations and academic labs
● Commercial Acumen: Possess a keen understanding of the life science/biopharma market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and operations, with the ability to translate insights into actionable business strategies and maximize profitability and growth in the US region.
● Strategic Thinking: Ability to think ahead and develop long-term strategies that align with both regional and global objectives, demonstrating foresight in understanding market trends and making informed decisions
● Customer-Focused: Commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of customers, with a strong emphasis on building lasting relationships and delivering value that exceeds expectations
