Position : Family Engagement Specialist Manager

Job Classification : Exempt

Reports to : Chief Operating Officer

Summary :

The Family Engagement Specialist Manager is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all federal requirement in the area of Family, Parent and Community Engagement and the supervision of Family Partnership Process and Parent Involvement for families. This role will focus on parent involvement and activities, family support services, case management, transition services and partnerships with community agencies. Leads outcomes and accountability, including supervision of Family Service Associate and Parent Involvement Staff, services and programming.

Responsibilities and Duties :

Responsible for oversight and monitoring of all Family / Parent and Community Engagement services, including Parent Involvement and Governance.
Develop and implement procedures for the delivery of family and community engagement services as required by the Head Start Performance Standards.
Ensures on-going monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of Family / Parent and Community Engagement Services, including Governance.
Plan, develop and administer the agency’s Family / Parent and Community Engagement area, ensuring an integrated and comprehensive system of services for children and families.
Oversee and assist Family Engagement Specialists in developing and implementing family goal setting / partnerships process.
Audits FES files for accuracy and completeness.
Maintains confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.
Attend a variety of meetings and trainings; prepare and deliver presentations related to assigned activities.
Perform special projects and / or other related duties as assigned.
Will support Erie, Venango, and Crawford Counties. Travel is required.

Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.

Three years of experience in an educational or community service organization including some experience overseeing the work of staff engaged in the delivery of program services.

Significant background in the use of data collection systems that track measurable outcomes.

Demonstrated relationship building experience.

Advanced computer literacy including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Ability to perform administrative tasks (establishing objectives, organizing and mobilizing staff to implement plans, planning ability, evaluation skills).

Ability to collaborate with other social service professionals, agencies and staff.

Ability to work flexible hours and travel when necessary.

Knowledge of and sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by families living in poverty.

Knowledge of and ability to utilize community resources.

Physical Requirements :

Typical office environment. Must be able to sit for long periods throughout the day with intermittent periods of standing, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties.

Sedentary work, with occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 30 pounds
