Position Information: Our client is seeking a talented Sr. Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end project management for all IT-related initiatives, including hardware refreshes, phone system migrations, and software development projects.
- Define clear, realistic timelines and milestones for all projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Identify key tasks, define dependencies, and organize tasks in an efficient order of operations to ensure smooth project flow.
- Establish strong communication channels with internal stakeholders and vendors. Provide regular project status updates to leadership, key departments, and faculty. Communicate project timelines, expectations, and outages in a clear, effective manner.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, ensuring alignment with the project scope, timelines, and budget. Facilitate coordination with external vendors on hardware, software, and service contracts.
- Work with departments and staff to facilitate user adoption, ensuring that all staff are properly trained for new systems and technologies.
- Identify key stakeholders within the college (including IT staff, faculty, department heads, and other administrative teams) and ensure proper involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Hold project teams accountable for deadlines and deliverables, ensuring that project tasks are completed accurately and on time. Drive project teams to collaborate and meet objectives.
- Proactively identify potential risks and roadblocks in projects, developing mitigation strategies and solutions to keep projects on track.
- Manage the timeline and execution of network switch upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to college operations.
- Coordinate class schedules and staff work schedules around hardware installation, clearly communicating expected outages and downtime.
- Lead the migration from the current phone system to Zoom Phone, including coordinating cutover dates, staff training, and communication with faculty and staff.
- Ensure that communication is clear and frequent to avoid confusion and downtime.
- Oversee a two-year migration project to move the Ellucian system from a hosted environment to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
- Coordinate the removal of customizations and custom code, ensuring smooth transition and system functionality.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience in managing complex IT projects, such as network upgrades, phone system migrations, and software transitions.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project timelines, manage tasks and dependencies, and provide clear and concise communication to all stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira, etc.).
- Ability to engage with technical teams, vendors, and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and fostering collaboration across various departments.
- Experience in a higher education or community college setting.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, phone system technologies, or enterprise software solutions (e.g., Ellucian, SaaS platforms).
