Job Summary:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process of the company. This position will work with various departments to understand their hiring needs and create a recruitment plan to attract and hire top talent. The Specialist will manage the hiring process from beginning to end, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for both the company and candidates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all areas of recruitment, resume screening, candidate assessment, pre-employment and onboarding (full cycle).
- Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to understand their staffing needs.
- Develops and implements recruiting strategies and processes that align with company goals, keeping long-term strategy in mind.
- Train hiring managers on effective interviewing. Partner to develop job specific questions as well as legal limitations.
- Serves as one of the administrators of the company’s HRIS and applicant tracking system, ADP Workforce Now.
- Reviews and writes job descriptions in partnership with managers to ensure they accurately reflect the required skills and qualifications
- Proactively sources candidates through various channels, professional networks, social media and college career centers
- Inputs job requisitions, posts on job boards, monitors and reviews incoming applications. Searches out viable candidates.
- Manages the screening process, including resume screening and interviewing candidates to assess experience, skills and salary expectations; forwards qualified candidates to hiring managers
- Coordinates with hiring managers and outside agencies to schedule virtual and onsite interviews
- Collects feedback from hiring managers to help push candidates through the hiring process
- Manages the candidates’ experience and ensures a positive impression of the company
- Maintains ownership of the weekly open position report, ensuring it is up to date
- Strategizes and works with the HR team to ensure the most efficient and effective onboarding processes are in place.
- Partners with the HR team to participate and execute HR projects as needed
- Maintain compliance with annual Affirmative Action Plan/federal contractor reporting requirements and filings
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of HR best practices, relevant employment laws and industry trends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build relationships with hiring managers, outside agencies and candidates
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organizational structure, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
- Proficient with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition or similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or similar field
- Experience in full cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
- Experience as an administrator of HRIS and application tracking systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now
- Professional certification such as HRCI or SHRM a plus
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- This is a full-time position, based in the Suffern, NY office.
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment
- Prolonged periods of sedentary work that requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer
