What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Controller position at CEC Controls Company Inc?
Objectives
The financial controller will take on responsibility for financial matters with a strong focus on project and financial controlling for CEC Controls Company, Inc., working across departments and as well acting as a sparring partner for all strategic financial issues. The financial controller will also be Point of Contact for stakeholders, business segment management and employees within this area. The financial controller is together with the local management responsible for operational and strategic financial topics and projects, staying true to SCIO's core values and reporting guidelines/ processes.
Responsibilities
General Management and Reporting
- Ensure financial management with regard to P&L, balance sheet, liquidity, preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to local GAAP within the company as well as IFRS-based group reporting (monthly)
- Comply with international and local financial requirements by staying up to date with all existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
- Establish and develop relationships locally and within the business segment (especially Head of BS/Finance and US entities) as well as group finance-team.
Financial Analysis - Budgeting, Forecasting & Controlling
- Strong focus on operational project controlling and monthly reviews with the Head of PMO and individual project managers to ensure quality and approval of project estimations and contracts.
- Collaborate with estimating staff to prepare project estimates for review and approval by management and the SCIO Automation Board.
- Prepare budget and forecast as well as active cash flow management, consolidations, planning and analysis in line with group financial standards and business plan.
- Establish and enforce controlling structures and KPI systems based on SCIO group requirements and tools to support data-driven corporate management and create transparency for controlling via SCIO Group's key financial figures.
- Monitor and analyze business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, identify cost saving potentials and prepare detailed reports for local and SCIO management team and rest of company.
- Perform risk management through analysis of company projects, investments, receivables and liabilities.
Financial Operations - Treasury, Accounting & Audit
- Ensure tracking of cash, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help to drive the company’s financial strategy.
- Provide support during the annual audit and ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC, IRS and other taxing entity requirements.
- Process optimization in the financial area by using modern systems and establishing permeable structures and decision paths.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Successfully completed studies (business administration engineering or equivalent) ideally complimented by an MBA or comparable.
- At least 10 years' experience in the in a financial role
- Preferred expertise in a function in the finance department of a large medium-sized company (preferably with project business/ industry)
- Comprehensive and equally strong expertise in controlling, financing (ideally in a private equity financed company), reporting, budgeting, accounting, and treasury.
- Understanding of advanced accounting and local regulatory issues
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and successful in negotiations (German language skills are nice to have)
