Job Description
CEC Controls is recruiting for an instrumentation and controls engineer who will focus on the design, engineering, startup, testing, and implementation of control systems. Experience preferred in water and wastewater and/or power plant systems. This role demands knowledge of PLC Programming, and an understanding of industrial standards in safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Technology and Programming
- Develop and implement SCADA systems and PLC programming, working independently on smaller projects and collaborating on larger ones.
- Configure and troubleshoot SCADA software and PLCs, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Work with platforms such as VTSCADA, Wonderware, iFix, WinCC, FactoryTalk View, and GE Simplicity, tailoring solutions to meet project needs
- Design and Engineering
- Review and interpret specifications, control drawings, and HMI screens, leading the design and testing of control systems.
- Ensure all systems are compliant with industry standards, including ISA and UL 508A
- Collaborate with other departments and vendors to meet company and customer needs throughout the design and engineering phases
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Technology, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent expertise and experience
- 2 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls
- Familiarity with industry standards and electrical safety standards (NEC, OHSA)
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, PLC programming, and related technologies
- Physical and Legal Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship.
- Able to climb a 2-story ladder
- Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
- Able to lift 30 lbs. while carrying a laptop
