The Telecom Project Manager is accountable for overseeing In-building telecommunication projects from inception to completion. The primary goal is to ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, on time, and within budget while meeting all stakeholder requirements. This role will require collaboration with various teams and clients to establish project objectives and deliverables.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
- Consistently conduct calls and provide updates on project progress while facilitating daily discussions. A background in wireless construction management and project management is highly desired. Key soft skills include expertise in Microsoft tools such as Excel and Power BI
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required. - Manage all aspects of small to medium-sized projects throughout their development lifecycle, including overseeing project scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs, and changes
- Work in close collaboration with stakeholders to establish project parameters and effectively convert customer requirements into formal specifications, utilizing industry expertise and delivery methodologies
- Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and status reports, managing task assignments to project resources and supervising project scope management throughout the lifecycle
- Engage with all stakeholders affected by the project, including end users, service organizations, vendors, and implementation partners. - Evaluate project deliverables for accuracy, and keep management apprised of potential risks, issues, and suggested mitigation strategies
- Experience in managing annual build plans for colocation and network service deployments for telecom carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T is crucial
- A comprehensive understanding of construction and wireless development processes, along with knowledge of pre-construction milestones, is essential including tracking design approval and design changes, facilitate meetings with stakeholders, create and track design packages
- Skilled in negotiating with and overseeing general contractors and vendors
- Solid knowledge of construction drawings and the redline process
- Familiarity with materials used in the design of telecommunications facility sites
- Understanding of environmental assessments and government approval processes
- Adept at interpreting carrier RFDS & iBwave designs
- Oversee telecommunication projects from planning to execution, ensuring high standards and adherence to timelines
- Establish project scope, create detailed work plans, and specify resource requirements
- Identify risks, devise mitigation strategies, and proactively address potential project issues
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners to enhance collaboration
- Implement leading project management practices to enhance processes and results
- Generate management reports detailing project milestones, changes, and challenges
- Conduct thorough final project reviews to assess achievements and identify areas for improvement
- Preferred bachelor's degree in telecommunications, engineering, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in wireless telecom project management
- At least 4 years in In-Building DAS project management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with project management software and methodologies
- Able to lead and motivate teams, promoting a collaborative culture
- Understanding of RAN and DAS Systems and OEMs standards and technologies
- Experience in coordinating and executing In Building DAS wireless infrastructure projects
- Experience of using Tools, including but not limited to, MagentaBuilt, TalonView, Unity, Power BI, Splunk, Salesforce
- Knowledge of project management best practices, tools, and methodologies
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
- Certifications such as PMP or equivalent are highly regarded
