What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Kitchen Helper position at Cedar Circle Farm and Education Center?
June–December, 20 hrs/week
Our farm kitchen prepares fresh, seasonal foods for our farmstand and café, and we’re looking for a Kitchen Helper to assist with daily kitchen operations. This is an entry-level position, ideal for students or individuals interested in gaining experience in a commercial kitchen. The work schedule is up to 5 days per week, based on your desired work hours, and including weekends as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Food Prep Support: Assist with basic kitchen tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and packaging prepared foods for resale.
- Restocking & Organization: Help maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring workstations are stocked and organized.
- Dishwashing & Cleaning: Wash dishes, clean equipment, and follow food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean workspace.
- General Assistance: Support kitchen staff with additional tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- No experience required – just a willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for the duration of a shift.
COMPENSATION
The Kitchen Helper position is part-time and seasonal, with benefits including paid sick leave, fresh produce, and a 20% discount to our farmstand. Pay is $15/hr. Ability to work the full season is a plus.
