Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Dining Operations is responsible for leading the Dining Services team to ensure quality food service and nutritional care across multiple locations, including Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cedar Bay West, the Cottages, and the Willows. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Supervising dining personnel to maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and service.
- Overseeing food preparation to ensure meals are consistently well-prepared, nutritious, and tailored to resident needs.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including ServSafe standards.
- Operating food service equipment such as steam jacketed kettles, steamers, braising pans, convection ovens, cook-and-hold ovens, slicers, mixers, grinders, proofing boxes, grills, broilers, coffee makers, blenders, food processors, and dishwashers.
- Managing special events and meal services for residents, guests, and staff.
- Providing leadership and training to the dining team to enhance efficiency and service excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal education in cooking preferred.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required.
- Institutional cooking experience preferred.
- ServSafe Certification required.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
