Job Description
The Fitness Specialist will assess, monitor, and develop individual fitness programs for residents in a senior living community. This role requires instructing fitness classes, performing fitness orientations, and conducting one-on-one personal training sessions.
- Instructing fitness classes for seniors with varying abilities
- Performing fitness orientations for residents
- Conducting one-on-one personal training sessions
- Promoting healthy lifestyles and physical independence among older adults
- Maintaining a welcoming environment in the fitness centers and aquatics center
- Assisting with coordination and implementation of wellness/fitness programming
- Prescribing exercise programs for seniors with high-risk health conditions
- Building relationships with residents and staff to encourage physical activity
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Health Education or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Current CPR/First Aid certifications
- Experience in evaluating fitness programs for seniors (desirable)
- Minimum 1-year related work experience
