Job Summary
We are excited to add an Interior Design Project Coordinator to our team. This is the first role of its kind at Cedar Lakes Estate and will play a key part in shaping the aesthetic vision of the property. The Interior Designer will work closely with the CEO on major design projects, from concept development to execution, and will be responsible for enhancing the guest experience through thoughtful, brand-aligned design.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop interior design concepts that align with Cedar Lakes Estate’s brand and vision.
  • Create mood boards, inspiration photos, and design presentations to communicate concepts effectively.
  • Source anything and everything – from small utilitarian accessories like light switch covers to more impactful/large-scope items like new pool furniture. Everything purchased should reflect the estate’s defined aesthetic, while considering the guest experience above all else.
  • Routinely walk the accommodations and venues and find ways to keep all spaces looking fresh or improve the design and guest experience.
  • Assist with aesthetic design of Cedar Lakes hosted events, like the Wedding Tastings, or Hotel Weekends, which may involve simple florals and seasonal decor.
  • Consistently research and stay ahead of design and hospitality trends to bring fresh ideas to the estate.
  • Assist CEO in overseeing all phases of interior design projects, both small and large, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Assist CEO in coordinating in-house maintenance team, outside vendors, and tradespeople for all design projects from initial consultation to final installation, serving as a primary point of contact.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and vendor contracts.
  • Work closely with vendors to source materials, build relationships, and ensure the timely delivery of furnishings and fixtures.
  • Manage installation processes to ensure design vision is executed flawlessly.
  • Keep detailed records of all items purchased for each project, including paint colors, finishes, and minor details, so that maintaining and reordering can be done with ease.
  • Partner with the Brand Team to ensure interior designs align with overall property branding and guest experience goals.
  • Produce visually compelling presentations to communicate design concepts, space planning, and product selections.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as Operations and Event Planning, to align designs with functional needs and guest flow.
  • Provide product expertise and an elevated level of taste in all design decisions.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Cedar Lakes Estate’s brand and aesthetic, ensuring all design elements reflect its luxury and hospitality ethos.
  • Regularly source and present new ideas, materials, and inspiration to enhance property aesthetics.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in interior design, preferably within a design firm, high-end furniture showroom, or luxury retail.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar, as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Exceptional design aesthetic and an ability to align with brand vision and goals.
  • Strong understanding of furniture, finishes, textiles, and materials, including sourcing and vendor management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts clearly and effectively.
