Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to establish project scope, design, and goals.
- Ensure timely preparation and approval of project documentation.
- Team Management:
- Supervise and coordinate general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Conduct regular site meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and District policies.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Approve expenditures and track project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare cost estimates and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all construction work meets District standards, quality controls, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction quality and progress.
- Oversee inspections, testing, and certification processes.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status, milestones, and challenges.
- Address client concerns and adjust project plans as needed to meet their expectations.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to scheduling, budgeting, safety, and construction quality.
- Develop mitigation plans to manage risks and prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure that all permits and inspections are completed on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records for all project documentation, contracts, and communications.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal construction laws.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field or proven experience as a Construction Project Manager for a minimum of 5 years.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Understanding of public school finances.
- Familiarity with local construction laws and regulations.
- Experience in managing large-scale commercial or residential projects.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to walk, stand, and inspect construction sites regularly.
- Ability to lift and carry materials (may vary based on project).
