Job Title: Grounds Intern Position
Employer: Cedar Rapids Kernels – High A Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment: Seasonal (April-August)
Compensation: Salary-Twice a Month
Essential Duties:
- Maintain pitching mound, home plate area, bullpens, and infield skin
- Assist in mowing, fertilizing, edging infield/outfield, and aerating
- Assist in tarp pulls and tarp covers (home plate and mounds)-game and non-game days
- Sodding and irrigation repair
- Set up and tear down batting practice
- Pre-game preparation
- Extra events (Concerts, college tournaments, high school games, etc.)
Requirements:
- Grounds experience not required, but preferred
- Must be able to work long hours
- Work in various weather conditions
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to operate utility equipment
