Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health issues
- Offer addiction support to individuals struggling with substance abuse
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower individuals to make positive changes
- Collaborate with other professionals and community resources to develop comprehensive care plans
- Assist individuals in navigating the behavioral health system and accessing necessary services
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to help individuals achieve their goals
Requirements:
- Experience in crisis management, behavioral health systems, and support services
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction counseling
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting others
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Education and/or Experience
- All Support Specialists must be at least 21 years of age and must have completed high school.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise clients in detox setting assuring that a safe and therapeutic environment is maintained for all clients
- Handle emergency situations such as environmental, weather related and physical injury and provide crisis intervention
- Develop and consistently implement predictable routines for daily functioning, including wake-up, hygiene, meals, and bedtime.
- Oversee the completion of resident chores
- Plans and organizes activities and educational groups for residents which promote change and growth in areas identified on their Individual Service Plans.
- Monitor resident behavior, functioning and symptoms, as well as progress towards treatment goals and objectives.
- Present as a role model for residents in establishing relationships, maintains professional care/client boundaries
- Complete all required paperwork daily and participate and satisfactorily complete all required training, supervision and team meetings
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and records
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures
- In times of need, may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by his or her supervisor.
