Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our healthcare team at Cedar Ridge Inn. As a CMA, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents / patients, monitoring their health status, and ensuring accurate documentation. You will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible for our patients while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer prescribed medications to patients as directed by the healthcare provider, including oral, topical, and injectable medications (if applicable).
- Monitor and document patient responses to medications, including any side effects or adverse reactions.
- Ensure that medications are dispensed in accordance with established protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist patients with medication management, including explaining proper medication usage and answering questions.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation in the facility’s electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Report any changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing team, physicians, or appropriate medical personnel.
- Educate patients and families on medication regimens, possible side effects, and the importance of adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
- Ensure medications are properly stored and secured according to facility policies.
- Assist with patient daily care needs, including mobility assistance and hygiene as required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities as required.
