We are looking for a Director of Training and Workforce Development to join our growing Education and Training team! This role will report to the Sr. Director of Residential and Community Energy. The Education and Training team is responsible for our contractor training functions, our curriculum-development work, and our rapidly growing Workforce Development programming. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the activities of CEE’s Training Department including contractor training and workforce development programs. This position is part of CEE’s leadership team and helps to inform and carry out strategic plan initiatives. This position has 2-3 direct reports and a staff of roughly 10-15 members. This is a hybrid position.

What You’ll Do
Programs
- Sets the strategic direction and provides leadership for training, education, and workforce development programming. This includes utility, federal, state, and local government funded workforce programs, and contractor training activities in Minnesota, Colorado, Illinois, and the Pacific Northwest
- Directs activities related to all training, education, and workforce development. This includes working with new entrants into energy careers as well as upskilling existing workers. This position collaborates with other directors and department staff to ensure consistency across programs
- Manage repository of various curricula, and ensure consistency and alignment across department training and education activities acknowledging different audiences and goals
- Accountable for meeting all training, education, and workforce program related goals.
- Develops new innovative program and business development ideas and delivery strategies that advance CEE’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
- Develop and lead fundraising strategy for the training and education department, meeting annual budget targets. Lead RFP responses and collaborate with CEE staff to develop funding proposals.

Leadership/Strategic Development
- Represent CEE externally in areas related to training, education, and workforce development. Serve as a liaison to key community partners, and program funders.
- Represent CEE’s training, education, and workforce program work internally on the Leadership team and with staff in other departments
- Develop capabilities and leadership of key team members in the department by providing them opportunities to lead and providing them feedback and direction.
- Build relationships with current and potential funders of CEE’s training, education, and workforce development programming in MN and other key states.
- Serve as part of CEE’s leadership team in order to realize organizational goals, cross promote programs and support goals set by other departments.
Administrative/Management
- Supervise CEE’s training and workforce management staff including assignment of duties and performance evaluation
- Evaluate department staff training needs and develop trainings and opportunities for skill development · Collaborate effectively across departments to develop a marketing strategy to create a clear understanding both externally and internally of CEE’s training, education, and workforce development efforts
- Develop annual departmental budgets, working with key managers internal to the department and working with the accounting department to track progress throughout the year
- Track program success and report to the President and key stakeholders
- Maintain positive and professional culture within the department and uphold the mission, vision, and values of CEE within the department
- Understand, communicate, and adhere to corporate policies and procedures, attend trainings as requested and read corporate wide emails and correspondence.

Skills & Knowledge We’re Looking For
- Undergraduate degree and/or a combination of education, experience and skills to successfully fulfill job requirements
- Ten years of program management and supervisory experience
- Extensive experience presenting and communicating information related to training, education, and workforce development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge and job experience with adult education, workforce development, and contractor technical education
- Knowledgeable about adult learning theory and curriculum development
- Experience working with external partners, funders and customers to meet their needs.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with building contractors
- Expertise in entry-level adult career pathways and education focused on recruiting BIPOC and women into non-traditional industries
Compensation
Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the starting compensation range for this position will be $135 - $140k.

Salary : $135,000 - $140,000
