What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Specialist position at CEI?
CEIs client is a local municipality that is currently going through various digital transformation projects. They are adding a Desktop Support Specialist to assist with end-user computing issues in person.
- Onsite Position (Monday - Friday)
- $20.00 / HR
- Must be local to Aurora, CO
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Testing and analyzing IT system and software performance.
- Resolving incoming personnel IT queries remotely via email and phone, or at the office.
- Prioritizing and resolving IT concerns and escalating serious issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Avoiding service interruptions by performing system installations, updates, and maintenance procedures.
- Preparing training manuals and FAQ materials for easy-access end-user guidance.
- Documenting processes and maintaining service desk records.
- Making recommendations to optimize IT performance and to prevent future problems.
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure that IT needs are met.
- Keeping informed of advancements in IT.
Experience:
- 1plus year of experience in the IT or Customer Service field.
- Must have experience support Mac devices.
- In-depth and current knowledge of computer programs and hardware.
- Proficiency in service and/or help desk ticketing software (ie. ServiceNow, Cherwell, etc.) and task management software.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High School Diploma
Preferred Experience includes:
- Collaboration technologies, including WebEx and Teams.
- Okta usage and support.
- Cisco CUCM
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements on a year for year basis.
Certificates Preferred:
- Help Desk or Service Desk Certifications
- Any other IT Certification
