CEI’s entertainment client is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their team!

- This is a long-term contract, with an initial term of 22 months, planned for extension and/or permanent placement

As a Ride & Show Electrical Designer, you'll work in a dynamic environment alongside Engineers to develop both conceptual and production-level design packages supporting exciting capital and expense projects. What You'll Do
Each day brings new challenges and opportunities! In this role, you will:
- Create electrical control system designs and detailed CAD drawings to support project requirements
- Participate in and contribute to project design reviews with internal and external partners
- Determine appropriate documentation for design releases, including Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Operational Test Procedures (OTP)
- Utilize Engineering Communication Forms (ECF) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to manage design control
- Conduct research to gather historical and background data supporting design development
- Identify and specify materials, vendors, and processes aligned with project needs
- Ensure all design work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards, including the California Ride Law
- Collaborate with vendors and fabrication shops to verify alignment with design documentation
- Support Engineers and Document Management teams in submitting as-built documentation into the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS)
- Stay informed on the latest technologies, materials, and design practices—and share insights with the team
Basic Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who bring:
- 3 years of experience in electrical controls design within a multi-disciplinary technical team
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and EPLAN (professional training or certification a plus)
- Solid understanding of electrical/mechanical design and manufacturing practices
- Working knowledge of materials (metals, composites, plastics), welding, finishing processes, and ASME standards (Y14/Y14.5)
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and time management skills
- A proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally access confined spaces, climb ladders, or gather field data after hours
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a theme park or themed entertainment design environment
- GD&T professional training or certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential
- Advanced EPLAN experience
