Location & Work Details:
- Primary Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 remote)
- Secondary Locations (Hybrid in PNC Hub Offices):Cleveland, OH – Strongsville Tech Center
- Dallas, TX – Dallas Innovation Center
- Birmingham, AL – Brock
- Phoenix, AZ – Biltmore
- Time Zone: Eastern (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM ET)
- Start Date: End of April (Contract with right to hire)
- Working Hours: Flexible, typically 8 AM – 4 PM or 9 AM – 5 PM
- Pay Rate: $65 - $70 per hour (depending on location)
Role Summary:
The Experience Designer will collaborate with project teams to design high-quality, client-centered, and consistent user interfaces. This role focuses on accessibility (WCAG 3.0 AA standard), responsive web design, mobile and web UI, and working within a defined design system to ensure usability, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business analysts, sponsors, and IT teams to gather requirements.
- Design and document user interface specifications, following UX best practices.
- Ensure designs align with WCAG 3.0 AA accessibility standards.
- Develop responsive web and mobile designs that function seamlessly across devices.
- Utilize and maintain consistency within a set design system.
- Conduct design reviews and gather stakeholder approvals.
- Execute business acceptance testing and support usability improvements.
- Collaborate with project managers to align usability deliverables with timelines.
- Advocate for user experience best practices and maintain design standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3-5 years of UX/UI, Interaction Design, Product Design, or Experience Design.
- Strong experience with Figma, Confluence, Jira, Visual Design, and UI.
- Expertise in WCAG 3.0 AA accessibility standards and implementing inclusive design.
- Experience in responsive web design, mobile and web UI design.
- Proficiency in working within a set design system to ensure consistency.
- Ability to create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience gathering and translating business/user requirements into UX solutions.
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, browsers).
- Familiarity with usability testing techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Team & Work Environment:
- Designers work with 1-2 product teams and collaborate across teams.
- Work closely with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Focus on servicing client information, preferences, and transactional/collaboration tools.
- Role contributes to risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
